Principal, Director of Secondary Instruction
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
200 days with benefits provided.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Develops and administers reading and mathematics curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives. Collaborates with teachers to assist with reading and mathematics instruction.
  2. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
  3. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for subject area, and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
  4. Teaches knowledge and skills in reading and mathematics.
  5. Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of mathematics to everyday existence and problem-solving. Designs learning activities to demonstrate comprehension strategies aligned with the science of reading.
  6. Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
  7. Maintains familiarity with district and Virginia assessments for the purpose of adapting curriculum to maximize student achievement on such assessments.
  8. Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
  9. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
  10. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
  11. Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  12. Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
  13. Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
  2. Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
  3. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  4. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  5. Serve on committees as assigned.
  6. Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
